Fun for All Playground and Splash Pad
Originally developed in 1979, Stephen C. Beachy Central Park is a popular spot for old-fashioned family fun in College Station. Enjoy a picnic at the pavilion (the barbecue pit is perfect for grilling hot dogs and hamburgers), go fishing in the pond (stocked with catfish through early November), and walk or bike along the paved trails. There’s also a fantastic splash pad here. The Fun for All Playground Splash Pad is a covered, wheelchair-accessible splash pad complete with a water shower, tipping buckets, and directional spray areas. It’s free and open to the public.
Location: 1000 Krenek Tap Road
When it’s Open:
March 1-October 31; open daily, 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
WA Tarrow Splash Pad
Kids of all ages will love splashing around at the WA Tarrow Splash Pad. Located next to the Lincoln Recreational Center, this splash pad offers tons of outdoor playtime. Little ones can get creative with spray areas and tipping buckets while frolicking through the water (just keep in mind that running is prohibited). As with other city parks and splash pads in town, the WA Tarrow Splash Pad doesn’t have an admission fee and is open to the public.
Location: 1000 Eleanor Street
Work on the Lincoln Recreation Center area improvements approved in the 2022 bond election is underway. The existing splash pad, playground area and other amenities will be closed until construction is completed this fall.
