Silver Celebration: 25 Years of the Bush Library and Museum

Since opening to the public in 1997, the community, along with the leadership and various departments of College Station, have offered steadfast support. Without the support of the College Station community, the Bush Library and Museum could not fulfill its mission to educate the public on the life and legacy of President George H. W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush.

The Bush Library and Museum has experienced several renovations and expansions. In 2007, the exhibit closed for a complete renovation that led to a reopening ceremony of the museum, with former President Bush arriving via parachute jump. On November 8, 2019, Union Pacific Railroad donated the #4141 locomotive to the library, where it will be on permanent display beginning in 2024.

On Saturday, April 22, 2023, The George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum would like to thank the community for their support and dedication with a silver anniversary celebration. The community wide event will feature musical entertainment, free cake, food trucks, bounce houses, and free admission to the museum, with a closing celebration of a spectacular fireworks display.
