Springfield to College Station is a long drive, so make it count: Friday night on Northgate, Saturday morning at a tailgate, then a 6 p.m. kickoff under the lights. Missouri State has climbed fast since moving up to FBS, and in our opinion, there is no better place to open a season than Kyle Field on a first-ever meeting.

Game Weekend Itinerary

Kickoff is one part of the weekend. Between Midnight Yell on Friday and brunch on Sunday, College Station gives you plenty of reasons to stay a little longer. Here is how we would spend it.

Friday

  1. Arrive in College Station
  2. Optional afternoon stop at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum
  3. Dinner and drinks at Northgate or Century Square, both walkable to campus
  4. Attend Midnight Yell at Kyle Field. Starts at midnight, runs about 30 minutes, free and open to everyone, no tickets needed. Clear bag rules apply!

Saturday

Morning:

  1. Sleep in, kickoff isn't till 6 PM
  2. Breakfast tacos at Rosa's Cafe or Fuego Tortilla Grill or kolaches from Kolache Rolf's
  3. Take a walk around campus while it's still quiet and see the Century Tree, Bonfire Memorial and the Aggie Ring Statue

Afternoon/Game Time:

  1. 2:30 PM Aggie Fan Zone opens outside the north end of Kyle Field: food, games, live broadcasts
  2. 3:30 PM Kids' Yell Practice near the War Hymn statue on Houston Street
  3. 3:45 PM Team Spirit Walk down Houston Street
  4. 4:30 PM Corps of Cadets march with the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. You will hear the drums first
  5. 4:30 PM Gates open at Kyle Field
  6. 6 PM Kickoff

After the Game:

  1. Out around 9:30 p.m., which is early by College Station standards
  2. Northgate runs late on gamedays - spend your evening at one of the most iconic places in Aggieland
  3. Eat first, drive second. Traffic clears while you do

  • Lick Creek Park - Five miles of marked trails through 523 acres of woods and prairie, plus a nature center with a monarch butterfly garden
  • Wolf Pen Creek Park - Paved trails along the creek, a pond full of turtles, a playground and a nine-hole disc golf course
  • Veterans Park and Athletic Complex - Walk the half-mile Lynn Stuart Pathway past 18 memorial sites and life-sized bronze statues, ending at a 250-ton granite Wall of Honor etched with more than 6,000 names
  • The Gardens at Texas A&M University - 27 acres of public gardens on west campus, free and open dawn to dusk, with shaded picnic spots and an audio tour if you want the full story

Home game weekends fill up fast, and the closer you book to kickoff the farther out of town you will end up. Whether you want to walk to Kyle Field, post up in Century Square or settle in somewhere quiet for the weekend, book early and stay Saturday night. Sunday morning in College Station is worth sticking around for.

Getting Here

Half the fun of an Aggieland gameday is the drive in. Whether you are coming down Highway 6 from Dallas, up from Houston on 290 or landing at Easterwood Airport just down the road from campus, let us make that part of the trip super simple. Once you are here, there's plenty of options for getting around town: your own car, a rideshare, a Veo bike or The District. Parking & Shuttles

Nobody wants to spend their morning circling for a spot. Texas A&M Transportation Services publishes an official football parking map every season showing which lots are open to the public, which require a permit and where the free gameday shuttles pick up and drop off. Reserve ahead through ParkMobile when you can, have your payment or permit barcode ready and give yourself extra time on the way in.

Q: When does my team play at Texas A&M in 2026?
A: Texas A&M hosts seven home games at Kyle Field in 2026: Missouri State (Sept. 5), Arizona State (Sept. 12), Kentucky (Sept. 19), Arkansas (Oct. 3), The Citadel (Oct. 17), Tennessee (Nov. 14) and Texas (Nov. 27). Kickoff times are announced six to twelve days out, so book travel with a flexible window.

Q: What is the best way to get to College Station?
A: Most visitors drive. College Station sits in the middle of Texas's biggest cities, roughly an hour and a half from Houston, two from Austin and just under three from Dallas/Fort Worth. Easterwood Airport (CLL) is minutes from campus with daily nonstop service to DFW. Full drive times, flights and local transit are on our Getting Around page.

Q: Do I need to book a hotel in advance for a home game weekend?
A: Yes, and earlier than you think. Home game weekends fill up across College Station and Bryan, and the longer you wait the farther out of town you will end up. Book as soon as the schedule is out, and plan on Saturday night at minimum. Sunday morning here is worth staying for.

Q: Where can visitors park for a game at Kyle Field?
A: Lots closest to the stadium are reserved for donors and permit holders, so most visiting fans park in public lots across campus and ride a shuttle in. Texas A&M Transportation Services publishes an official football parking map each season showing which lots are open to the public and where to enter.

Q: Can I buy parking ahead of time?
A: In most cases, yes. Texas A&M releases prepaid public parking through ParkMobile ahead of each home game, and buying early is the easiest way to avoid hunting for a spot on gameday. Availability, pricing and release dates vary by game, so check Transportation Services for current details.

Q: Is there a free shuttle to Kyle Field?
A: Yes. Free gameday shuttles run between public parking lots and Kyle Field on home game Saturdays, and they are the simplest way in if you are parked across campus. Routes, pickup points and hours are set each season and posted by Texas A&M Transportation Services.

Q: Is there accessible parking and shuttle service?
A: Yes. Texas A&M offers accessible parking and accessible shuttle service on gameday, and Kyle Field has ADA seating on every level. A state-issued placard or plate is required for accessible parking. For accessible seating, contact Texas A&M ticketing ahead of your visit so they can help you directly.

At Kyle Field

Q: What is the bag policy at Kyle Field?
A: Kyle Field uses a clear bag policy. Clear bags may not exceed 12" x 6" x 12", and the same rule applies at Midnight Yell the night before. Small clutches are typically permitted alongside a clear bag. Check 12thman.com for the full list of prohibited items before you head to the stadium.

Q: Where do visiting team fans sit?
A: Visiting fan seating depends on the ticket allotment your school receives, so the section varies from game to game. Start with your own athletics department, which distributes the visiting allotment, or buy directly through Texas A&M's ticket office. You will find visiting fans scattered throughout the stadium either way.

Q: Can I wear my team's colors in College Station?
A: Absolutely. Wear your colors, bring your fans and expect a good-natured ribbing or two. Aggies take hospitality as seriously as they take football, and "Howdy" is a real greeting here, not a bit. You are a guest in Aggieland this weekend, and you will be treated like one.

What To Expect

Q: What is Midnight Yell Practice and can visitors go?
Midnight Yell happens at Kyle Field at midnight the Friday before every home game, and yes, you are welcome. More than 25,000 people show up to practice yells, hear the Yell Leaders tell stories and sing the Aggie War Hymn. It is free, no tickets needed and it runs about 30 minutes. Clear bag policy applies.

Q: What should I know about Aggie traditions before the game?
Aggie fans and locals will be the first ones to tell you that a lot happens here on gamedays that are not common anywhere else, in all the best ways possible. Fans do their best to stand the entire game as part of the 12th Man tradition, dating to a student who stood ready on the sideline in 1922. You'll hear hissing instead of booing when something doesn't go our way. Reveille, a rough collie, is the highest-ranking member of the Corps of Cadets and is the staple for much of the attention when the game isn't happening. Ask an Aggie about any of it.
