History in Motion
Overview
Tanks, Tanks, Tanks!
Feel the ground shake and engines roar at the Museum of the American G.I.’s History in Motion! Watch historic tanks, military vehicles, and artillery spring to life in a thrilling, action-filled weekend that brings the past into the present. You’ll experience one of the South’s premier collections of fully restored WWII and Vietnam-era vehicles—in motion.
This family-friendly event is packed with exciting activities for all ages! Tanks and vehicles will run throughout the day, with special demonstrations featuring historic weapons, artillery, and rare vehicles. Between shows, explore the displays up close—or climb aboard for a ride in a WWII tank or Half-Track!
We begin each day with a special presentation of the National Anthem at 10:00 AM, setting the stage for the day’s events. The event will showcase special weapons demonstrations, and TWO BIG Vehicle Demonstrations. Make sure you do not leave early or you will miss the finale: a powerful artillery demonstration that ends the day with a BOOM!
