COLLEGE STATION, TX – September 8, 2026
Visit College Station announced today that the city's inaugural Restaurant Week, held August 24-30, generated $58,595 in total sales across eight participating restaurants, with 10% of proceeds — $5,859.50 — going directly to the Brazos Valley Food Bank to support hunger relief efforts across the Brazos Valley.
The week-long showcase invited diners to enjoy fixed-price, multi-course menus for one set price, with lunch at $25 and dinner at $45, $55 or $65 depending on the restaurant. The response from the community turned every reservation into a small act of neighborly support.
“Visit College Station's Restaurant Week is a wonderful example of what can happen when our community comes together around food. Every meal enjoyed at a participating restaurant became an opportunity to help a neighbor who may be struggling to put food on the table,” said Theresa Mangapora, Executive Director of the Brazos Valley Food Bank. “We are incredibly grateful to Visit College Station, the restaurants and diners who turned a day or night out into meaningful support for hunger relief. It truly is a win-win for our community—supporting local restaurants while helping ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need.”
None of this would have been possible without the eight local restaurants that opened their kitchens and built menus exclusively for the inaugural event. Visit College Station extends its sincere thanks to:
- Brazos Proper Texas Kitchen
- Casa do Brasil
- Casa Mangiare
- De Baca Steakhouse
- Juanita's Tex-Mex Cantina
- Office of the Dean
- Porter's Dining + Bar
- Red's Icehouse
"We couldn't be more pleased with how our inaugural Restaurant Week turned out," said Angie Bertinot, Marketing Manager for Visit College Station. "Seeing our local restaurants come together for a great cause, and seeing our community turn out to support them, is exactly the kind of impact we hoped this new event would have. We're already looking forward to building on this success next year."
