First Day of Winter Hike

Overview

Bundle up and welcome the new season with Millican Reserve’s First Day of Winter Hike!

Join us for a free, guided walk along Prescott Trail, beginning at Basecamp, as we celebrate the arrival of winter in the Brazos Valley. Participants will enjoy the crisp winter air, the calm beauty of the forest in its quiet season, and the opportunity to connect with nature and community.

This family-friendly event is open to all ages and experience levels. The pace will be moderate, with time for observation and discussion of seasonal changes, local wildlife, and how plants and animals adapt to the cooler months.

Bring water, wear comfortable walking shoes, and dress appropriately for the weather.

Parking

Please use the Farm Entrance to Millican Reserve (19851 FM 2154). Designated parking is at the Basecamp grassy area. You MAY NOT PROCEED past the Farm area in your vehicle.

All outdoor events are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Registered attendees will be notified via email in the event of a cancellation.
