DECEMBER 11, 2025—Spanning 11,000 square feet, Harry’s Northgate remodel will include an expanded dance floor and enlarged stage for live music, staying true to what made Harry’s a staple of College Station. Known for high-energy DJ nights, live country music and a packed dance floor, the venue is set to usher in a new era of nightlife while honoring deep-rooted Aggie traditions.
Co-owned by Jack McGregor and Craig LaFleur, Harry’s Northgate isn’t just another bar, it’s a revival. Dance halls have long been part of College Station’s DNA, and the closures of Hurricane Harry’s and Shiner Park left a noticeable void for students, locals and visitors looking for a place to two-step and gather. Harry’s Northgate aims to fill that gap and then some.
“College Station has always been a dance hall town and losing Hurricane Harry’s left a hole that everyone felt,” said McGregor and LaFleur. “Harry’s Northgate is about bringing that energy and that sense of community back where it belongs. We’re excited to create a new place where Aggies and locals can dance, hear great music and make memories again.”
The project was a natural fit for the highly visible property, according to owner John Whittington.
“When vetting potential tenants from all over Texas for the property, I always had Harry’s as the favorite,” said Whittington, also owner of The Tap. “The thought of bringing back an Aggie mainstay and placing it at the largest property in the heart of the Historic Northgate District just made sense.”
From the City’s perspective, Harry’s Northgate represents both a cultural return and a strategic investment in the district’s continued evolution.
“Harry’s Northgate fits squarely within the vision for a vibrant, authentic Northgate that reflects College Station’s identity,” said Michael Ostrowski, chief development officer for the City of College Station. “The return of a true dance hall strengthens the district and reinforces what makes this area special.”
More details about opening celebrations and performance lineups are expected as the project progresses.
