Museum of the American G.I.

At the Museum of the American G.I., we strongly believe in honoring those who have served our country by preserving not only their uniforms and equipment, but their memories. Each of our fully-restored and operational vehicles comes with a story of the brave men and women who drove, operated, and repaired them. We host an impressive collection of men and women’s uniforms, each with the badges and medals that their original owners earned throughout the course of their service. The Museum of the American G.I. believes that the best way to honor our servicemen and women is to educate the public about their sacrifice. For this reason, we are the proud home of the award-winning Texas Vietnam Heroes Exhibit, an interactive display featuring hand-embossed dog tags representing every Texas serviceman who died or went missing in action in the Vietnam War. Every spring, the museum hosts its annual Living History Weekend, in which reenactors, vendors, and military history enthusiasts gather on the museum’s grounds to educate the public through Living History camps, weapons demonstrations, and the largest WWII battle reenactment in the South. The museum’s regular hours are Wednesday - Saturday: 10AM-5PM, and Sunday: 12PM-5PM. For information, email us at info@americangimuseum.org or call at (979) 690-0501.
