The welcome arrival of cooler fall weather brings out sweaters for some – and running gear for others. For running fans, it also means more than 1,100 athletes competing in the BCS Oktoberfest Half Marathon & 10K on Sunday at venerable Kyle Field.

The action-packed weekend begins with the packet pick-up from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday at The Green at Century Square. The event features music, great food, and drink specials. Be sure to visit Compete College Station’s goodie booth and ask about the surprise giveaway.

The race begins Sunday at 7 a.m. at Texas A&M’s historic football stadium. Volunteers will be on both routes to cheer on the participants. Once the runners cross the Kyle Field finish line, they’ll be gifted a custom beer glass and can choose from up to eight on-site craft beer vendors. The post-race party will also offer plenty of delicious food.

“We are beyond excited to get back to live racing at the 2021 BCS Oktoberfest Half Marathon & 10K presented by FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies – and the runners are, too,” Race Director Dan McClain said. “Both distances have sold out. With the finish line inside Kyle Field and an amazing post-race party, Sunday morning will absolutely be a rocking good time.”

“We are truly blessed to have Compete College Station as a major partner,” McClain added. “With their help, we look forward to many years of great races and potential growth, which in turn means more proceeds to our charity partners.”

After the race, participants and followers are invited to head over to Homegrown at Northgate to browse the offerings of more than 50 local vendors, listen to live music, and enjoy yard games and food from Northgate establishments.

Good luck and safe travels to all the participants!
